The winners of the Catholic Music Awards were announced on July 27, 2025, at Auditorium Conciliazione in Rome.

First announced in September 2024 as a joint project of the Fundación Ramón Pané of Spain and the Vatican’s Dicastery for Communications, the Catholic Music Awards were created as a type of "Catholic Grammys."

More than 1,400 songs were nominated for this year's awards.

The aim of the Catholic Music Awards is to "magnify, recognize and promote the creativity of all those composers, singers, musicians, producers, engineers and mixers, who have helped to Evangelize through music," says its website.

Additionally, the awards seek to "encourage the production of music with better content, better quality in their productions so that it can reach Catholic Christians to support their music projects."

The award ceremony was held in Rome but was streamed online on YouTube.

Award categories

In addition to the typical prize categories of "Best Female Singer," "Best Male Singer," genre-specific categories, and technical achievement, there were also prizes given for "Best Marian Song," "Best Parish Choir," and "Best Catechesis Song."

During the ceremony, Cardinal Oscar Rodríguez Maradiaga, archbishop emeritus of Tegucigalpa, told the crowd that music is an essential part of the process of evangelization.

“Catholic music touches the heart and brings us closer to the love of Christ,” he said.

In addition to the standard slate of awards, there were also honorary "artistic legacy" awards given to recognize the careers of notable Catholic musicians.

These honorary awards were given to Andrea Boccelli, Maestro Alejandro Mejía Pereda; Monsignor Marco Frisina; Martín Valverde; and Matt Maher.

Prizes were awarded to songs in Spanish, English, Italian, and Portuguese. A full list of winners is below. At the website, you can hear many of the songs.
