Not only did the US bishops almost unanimously pass the "special pastoral message" on immigration and welcome it with a standing ovation, but they've taken to social media with a compelling presentation of highlights of the text.

Read the text here:

The text was nearly unanimously approved by the bishops on November 12, 2025, during the conference's Plenary Assembly held in Baltimore.

By the next morning, highlights of the message were shared through USCCB channels on social media, with a compelling video just over a minute long.

The video can be viewed on Facebook or X (formerly Twitter) or other channels.

A longer version was placed on YouTube:

This was the first time in 12 years that the US bishops have released a special pastoral message, which are issued while the bishops are gathered in plenary assembly. They have a plenary assembly twice a year.

The last special message was issued in 2013, in response to the federal government’s contraceptive mandate under President Barack Obama.
