Pope Leo's jersey collection has grown once again, thanks to filmmaker Spike Lee.

On Saturday, November 15, Pope Leo met with actors and filmmakers at the Vatican. The meeting was an effort to "deepen dialogue with the world of cinema and in particular with actors and directors, exploring the possibilities that artistic creativity offers to the mission of the Church and the promotion of human values," said a statement from the Vatican.

Lee, a longtime fan of the New York Knicks who is often spotted courtside at games, was one of the many celebrities at the star-studded event. And he came prepared: At the end of the meeting, he presented the Pope with a customized "POPE LEO" jersey.

While Chicago native Pope Leo is a fan of the Chicago Bulls, several members of the Knicks' roster attended Villanova, Pope Leo's alma mater, Lee wrote in an Instagram post.

"This afternoon in Vatican City, I presented Pope Leo with a New York Knicks-brand Jordan Jersey," wrote Lee along with a picture of the jersey exchange. Lee signed the jersey with "Peace and Love."

'The pontiff graduated from Villanova, and so did [Jalen] Brunson, [Josh] Hart, and [Mikal] Bridges," said Lee, adding "Ya-dig."

On social media, many Knicks fans expressed their amusement at Lee's gift, with some hoping that the Pope's new jersey (and his assumed prayers) would result in an NBA Championship win for their team.

The Knicks last won the championship in 1973.
