The pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela continues to be a talking point. American actor David Henrie, best known for his role in the series Wizards of Waverly Place, shared a post on November 20 in which he appears dressed as a pilgrim, with the famous shell, in Santiago de Compostela. “A city built on transformation,” he writes.
“Kings and queens have walked this path. Millions still do. It all traces back to St. James himself, who returned to Spain at the request of Our Blessed Mother.”
The actor concludes: “If you've never done a pilgrimage, I can't recommend this one enough. Something changes in you here.”
David Henrie's faith
Despite being famous as an actor, among the greatest values that identify him are his faith and family. That’s why he has committed himself to sharing his daily life devoted to God on social media. He’s currently working on several projects in which he presents his faith through travel, history, and, of course, his family life.

A tradition with a long history and devotion
The appeal of Santiago de Compostela dates back more than a millennium, rooted in traditions related to St. James. The number of pilgrims headed to Santiago hit a peak in the 12th and 13th centuries.
Although the advent of modern travel threatened to eclipse the ancient walking routes, the last three decades have seen a remarkable resurgence in the popularity of pilgrimages to Compostela. The Camino now attracts not only devout pilgrims, but also adventurers and non-believers in search of meaning.
