Just days before taking the stage for The Voice Season 28 finale, singer Aubrey Nicole returned to a very different stage: the one that started it all.
In a video posted to Instagram on December 7, the top 4 finalist is seen standing in the pews of the historic Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Hanover, Pennsylvania — her hometown Catholic church — singing a heartfelt rendition of "How Great Thou Art."
"I grew up in this Church," she wrote in the caption. "It was the first place I learned that my voice was the gift God had given me to praise him."
The clip, filmed just before she left for the finale, is a quiet, reverent moment that speaks volumes. In an industry often driven by noise and image, Aubrey’s return to church is a beautiful reminder of where true strength lies. Before the lights and cameras, she paused to reconnect with the source of her gift — and gave that gift back in worship.
In the final results, Aubrey Nicole placed fourth, which is in itself a tremendous achievement. But the video she shared may just be the most powerful performance of all. It shows a young artist who knows where she comes from, and Who she sings for.
