Pope Leo XIV will lead a global prayer vigil for peace at St. Peter's Basilica on Saturday, continuing a papal tradition that has responded to humanity's darkest hours.

Pope Leo XIV made "unarmed and disarming" peace a central theme of his pontificate from his very first words on the central balcony on May 8, 2025. Today, he is once again calling the faithful to receive Christ's peace and become peacemakers, this time by gathering with him in person or virtually to pray. On Saturday, April 11, at 6 p.m., he invites everyone to join him in St. Peter's Basilica to pray for peace in a world torn apart by war.
