Bishop John Oliver Barres

The Most Reverend John Oliver Barres, STD, JCL, DD has served as the fifth Bishop of Rockville Centre since his installation on January 31, 2017. Previously, he served as Bishop of Allentown since his episcopal ordination on July 30, 2009. His episcopal motto “Holiness and Mission” comes from Pope Saint John Paul II’s Encyclical Letter Redemptoris Missio which emphasizes the universal call to holiness and mission in the Catholic Church.
