More on Rome’s Upcoming Jubilee for Deacons

Deacon Greg Kandra - published on 02/20/16

More details are emerging about the Jubilee weekend scheduled for May 27-29.  I received an email not long ago from the Rev. Geno Sylva, from the Pontifical Council for the Promotion of the New Evangelization, with this news:

We are delighted that for the Jubilee for Deacons, Cardinal Pell (Prefect for the Secretariat for the Economy) and Cardinal Turkson (President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace) have graciously agreed to each present a catechesis to the English speaking participants.

He also noted that they have added information about the weekend on the Jubilee web page. You can check that out here.

For additional background, check out my web post on the event from last year, which also has information about coordinating travel for the weekend. Several places are sponsoring special tours for deacons and their wives.

(For those who have been asking: yes, deacons will vest in alb and stole for the papal Mass on Sunday. Seating particulars are as yet unknown.)

See you in Rome!
