You may remember that Pope Francis last month named a devotee of the Mass in the Extraordinary Form, Rev. James Massa, as an auxiliary bishop to Brooklyn.
Fr. Massa has a special interest in issues affecting the people of the Middle East. He worked for the USCCB for several years as Executive Director of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishop’s Secretariat for Ecumenical and Interreligious Dialogue. In 2008, he was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI a Consultor to the Pontifical Council for Interreligious Dialogue and a Member of the Joint Working Group between the Holy See and the World Council of Churches.
He’s also a longtime supporter of CNEWA.
Next week, he will celebrate Mass in the Extraordinary Form for persecuted Christians in the Middle East. It will happen in the beautifully renovated Holy Name of Jesus Church in Brooklyn. Details below. (H/T Rorate Caeli)
