From an email this morning:
Last Saturday, September 24th, I had the privilege of concelebrating at the ordinations of 17 new permanent deacons in Rockford, IL. The very unofficial pic [shown here] was taken afterward. My good friend, Deacon Frank Zammuto was part of this class. Just thought I’d let you know since it hasn’t been reported on your site yet. Peace always, Jim Jankowski Shared pastor at St. John Neumann and St. James the Apostle in the Diocese of Las Vegas
The diocesan website reports:
Seventeen men were ordained as permanent deacons by Bishop David Malloy on Sept. 24 at the Cathedral of St. Peter in Rockford. “In a manner unique to this calling,” Bishop Malloy said, “you will have the presence of God, the Holy Spirit, not only given to you but residing in you.” The bishop challenged them to be a “bearer of God’s presence among His people and into the world.” More on the ordination and these 17 new deacons coming in the Oct. 7 issue of The Observer.
Ad multos annos!
Congratulations and welcome, brothers!
