My friend the Rev. John Cush—back in New York, on break from Rome, where he’s a dean at the North American College—will be featured at a special event tomorrow night. (H/T to Deacon Steve Greydanus!). It’s taking place at the Sheen Center in lower Manhattan:

Join us for a lively conversation about the Netflix web TV series Marvel’s Daredevil, with members of the show’s creative team, who will discuss what goes into making a hit television series. They will be joined by other speakers, who will talk about the moral themes the show explores.
Panelists:
Julie Schubert (Casting Director, Daredevil; House of Cards (Emmy Nominated);OutcastLuke Cage) Matthew O’Brien (Director, Original Programming, Marvel TV) Rev. John Cush (Academic Dean of the Pontifical North American College in Rome and Theological Expert for Superman: The High-Flying History of America’s Most Enduring Hero by Larry Tye)  Khaldoun Sweis, PhD, (Associate Professor of Philosophy at Olive-Harvey College and tutor in philosophy with Oxford University in England.) About the Show:Daredevil follows Matt Murdock, attorney by day and vigilante by night. Blinded in an accident as a child, Murdock uses his heightened senses as Daredevil to fight crime on the streets of New York after the sun goes down. Tickets: $15

Check out the website for additional details.

Fr. Cush is a die-hard comic book fan and an honest-to-goodness geek. He’s also an enthusiastic raconteur and teacher, and a great dinner companion. But I digress. If you’re in the neighborhood, go. Listen. Geek out. You’ll have a great time.

Below is an image of him with me and my wife from our recent visit to Rome.
