ADVENT GIVEAWAY: Win a copy of 'Christmas with the Dominican Sisters of Mary'!

Oh, you regular readers know I don’t usually do this. You know I’m a crank who hates to go to the Post Office and so the big giveaways are not my wheelhouse, but in this case, I have to make an exception, because the CD is too good not to share!

De Montfort Music | Sony Music Entertainment

Last week Aleteia gave a big ‘thumbs up’ review to Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring: Christmas with the Dominican Sisters of Mary, raving about the Sister’s “flawless vocal blending”:

The album has a diverse mix of popular and little-known Christmas Carols. They include many seasonal standards, like Joy to the World, Emmanuel, and Away in the Manger, but the album also includes some unfamiliar songs, like Of the Father’s Love Begotten, Madonna’s Lullaby, and Gabriel’s Message. The strength of an album like this is that we get to enjoy perfected renditions of our favorites and learn new carols for the years to come, and it’s all delivered with the sort of lovely tone that religious communities develop as they sing their way through liturgies, day by day.

We like the album so much that we’re giving away three copies of the CD this week — and I’m not even the one who will have to mail them, so if you win, you actually will get the music quickly!

To enter, all you have to do is share this post on social media — either Twitter or Facebook — from right now until midnight (Eastern) of Thursday, December 7, and include the hashtag #SistersofMaryCDForMe. On Friday, December 8 (the Feastday of Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception, which is appropriate for the Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist), I will pull three random participant names from a pretty Christmas bowl, and your prize will be on its way! Easy peasy, and you will have something beautiful and new to brighten up your days as we head through Advent and into Christmas.

Don’t forget that hashtag: #SistersofMaryCDforMe

Here is a sample of their beautiful sound.
