An off duty Applebee’s server, Kasey Simmons, was in a grocery store when he saw a very upset woman. He spent a little time talking to her and even paid her $17 bill before parting ways:
The following day, he returned to work for his shift at Applebee’s. That night, a family walked in and ordered the cheapest item on the menu, a flavored water. Then, they quickly exited the restaurant. But they left $500 tip on a bill totaling 37 cents. Along with the extraordinary tip, Kasey found a note on the table, written on a paper napkin. When he read the words, he couldn’t believe his eyes — and how his simple act of kindness the day before ended up coming back to him tenfold.
The letter explained that the woman he had been so kind to in the grocery story was their mother and she was so upset because it was the 3-year anniversary of the death of her husband. Her daughter went to find the man who had made her mother’s day so much better and tipped him 50,000% on the bill.
Cheers to Kasey, just for being the kind soul he is. We hope your merciful acts continue to yield fruit for you.
