The mother of God can help us prepare for Christmas.

Who better than the Virgin Mary to guide us on our way to Christmas? She received Jesus first and carried Him in her womb. She shows us how to surrender to the will of God, to be humble and obedient, to serve, and to forsake materialism.

We can begin every morning during this Advent season with this short and lovely prayer asking for her help and intercession:

Holy Mother of God,

in silence and peace

you have carried and given birth

to He who bears all:

be our guide on the path to Nativity,

so in celebrating the birth of your son,

Jesus Christ our Savior,

our hearts will be transported with joy

and hope.

Amen
