Amelia Earhart’s (1897-1937) life reminds us to be ambitious, and decisive. Earhart took her first flying lesson in 1921 and quickly began setting records. Her sense of adventure and willingness to take risks meant she was quickly setting numerous records, including being the first woman to fly across the Atlantic. Earhart became an international celebrity but disappeared over the Pacific in 1937 while attempting to fly around the world.
