The origin of Tibidabo’s name itself has scriptural significance. The most popular explanation is that a 17th-century visitor, awed by the panoramic view, uttered tibi dabo - “To you I give” -- echoing the verse from the Gospel of Luke (4:6) in which the devil tempts Jesus to rule the world.
