Lily - purity and virginity. By its whiteness, the lily is the symbol of purity. From the Annunciation onward, it symbolizes the Immaculate Conception, purity, virginity, and eternal fidelity. Its Marian symbolism already appears in the Song of Songs: "Like a lily in the midst of thorns, such is my Beloved among the lilies." Other passages in the Bible evoke the lily as the symbol of virginity and purity.
