St. Sylvester was a 4th-century pope whose papacy came after after the Diocletian persecutions. He remained in his post for nearly 25 years and was involved in the Council of Nicaea that aimed to find a consensus within the Church. With his feast day falling on December 31, he's the perfect saint to end 2020 with the hope for a more peaceful new year.
