While you'll make sure your vehicle is roadworthy, make sure the interior is kid-friendly, too. Have sun shades in place and put essentials so they're easy to reach in case of emergency. You can give your slightly older kids their own small travel bag so you won't have to keep turning around to hand them toys or snacks.
