Mission San Xavier del Bac (Tuscon, Arizona)
Since it was completed in 1797, this Spanish-style Catholic church has needed practically constant renovation. The east tower was never completed due to budget restrictions. The church is known for an elaborate carved facade that surrounds the front doors. As it was built before the Arizona territory was officially part of the US, San Xavier is technically the oldest European structure in the state.
