Gabriel
The first name Gabriel is formed from the Hebrew words "gabri" and "el" and means "strength of God." It’s the name given to one of the three archangels, St. Gabriel, the archangel of the Good News, the messenger of God. It is he, in fact, who announces to Zechariah that he’s going to have a son, John the Baptist, and who announces to Mary that she has been chosen to bear the Son of God.
