He was cultured
Pier Giorgio had a thirst for life. Although his passionate nature saw him relentlessly care for the sick, give away his possessions to the poor, and pray continually, he also took pleasure from the arts. He was able to recite Dante, was a keen opera fan, and enjoyed going to museums and exhibitions. And like John Paul II, he loved the mountains.
