St. Elizabeth Ann Seton - turning tragedy into devotion
The American saint's life was beset with tragedy. She lost her husband, many of her children, and faced rejection when converting to Catholicism. Yet she didn't give up. Her love of God motivated her to serve others and set up the first Catholic girls' school in the U.S., as well the order of the Sisters of Charity. The first native-born American saint created a legacy that has impacted millions of lives.
