Mark Wahlberg

Wahlberg partly credits his success to the positive nurturing of the Boys and Girls Club of America. In return the actor set up the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation that aims to make sure that no child is prevented from achieving their goals due to financial limitations.

Dwayne Johnson

Children are very close to The Rock's heart. He's very active through Dwayne Johnson's The Rock Foundation in helping children who've been hospitalized, and he is also trying to help prevent child obesity, as well as encourage children to go into further education. There are countless photos of the smiling actor meeting up with kids in need.

Patricia Heaton

As part of her charity work the actress partnered up with World Vision to design the Hope bracelet handcrafted in India. Each $100 sale goes to help those in most need across the world. Heaton herself wears the bracelet to keep Gracious, the child she sponsored through World Vision, "in mind."

Jim Caviezel

The devout actor gives a lot of time to a cause that is close to his heart: his faith. He is often a guest speaker at events for organizations set up through the group Catholic Charities, where people pay good money to hear this passionate star supporting religious causes.

Mel Gibson

The Hollywood star has given $10 million to hospitals to help reimburse treatment given to children through international charity care programs.

Massimo Bottura

The Italian chef is devoting a lot of time to feeding those in need while trying to prevent food waste. Through Food for Souls, he encourages communities and cooking professionals to care for those who are often marginalized in society by offering them a place to eat a hearty meal.

Dolly Parton

Through her Imagination Library Program, the country singer is bringing books into the homes of young children all over the world. As of 2016 over one million books are being sent out each month to pre-schoolers.

John Krasinkski

Although the actor supports many charities, he decided to set himself the goal of working out with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to complete the Murph Challenge -- a grueling Navy Seal workout -- with proceeds going to the LT Michael P. Murphy Scholarship Foundation, which helps to provide education for those in need.

Cole Hamels

The Chicago Cubs pitcher and his wife, Heidi, donated their substantial home -- listed at $9.75 million -- to the Barnabas Foundation, which helps to give life-changing experiences to children with special needs.

Jimmy Kimmel

Although the talk show host supports many causes, he also likes to demonstrate his basketball skills in aid of charity. He was defeated during a one-on-one with Senator Ted Cruz, but the proceeds raised went to a children's hospital and Generation One, which aims to eradicate poverty in Houston, Texas.

Pierce Brosnan

The former James Bond has spoken of how art helped him get through his late wife's death. Hoping his passion for art would help others, Brosnan donated a painting worth $1.4 million to charity.

Tim Tebow

The former quarterback started the Tim Tebow Foundation to "bring Faith, Hope and Love to those needing a brighter day in their darkest hour of need." Through various outreaches, the foundation lends support and encouragement to those facing difficult situations, while also spreading the Gospel.

Lance Berkman

Recognized by Forbes as one of 30 most generous celebrities, the Cardinals first baseman and his wife, Cara, established a foundation called To The Lord's Fund, giving money to Christian organizations throughout the world.

Gary Sinese

The award-winning actor donates lots of his time and energy to veterans and first responders through the Gary Sinise Foundation. Sinese aims to lend much-needed support to the country's defenders. His band organizes morale-boosting concerts with the troops, meals and equipment are donated to the different services, and homes and vehicles are adapted for wounded vets.
