Repentance - St. Peter
St. Peter’s role in the Easter story is not exactly honorable. He falls asleep in Gethsemane, cuts off the high priest’s servant’s ear, and denies Christ three times. Yet Christ chose him to be the first pope, despite his failings, because St. Peter knew how to truly repent and always try again. We could all imitate his perseverance in virtue and willingness to repent!
