His self-sacrifice
John the Baptist wasn't one to dig into a lamb casserole. He'd rather spend time in contemplation munching on a few locusts, dressed in coarse clothing made of camel's hair. Encourage your kids to go without some of their favorite snacks from time to time and to offer it up as a sacrifice for others.
