Here's another scary story with a big move as a launchpad. But when Zach and mom Gail move from the Big Apple to Madison, Delaware, Zach doesn't go to another world, like Coraline does. He brings it into ours. Several creepy worlds, actually—all from the locked books in R.L. Stine's bookcase. In our real world, of course, Stine's the creator of the wildly popular Goosebumps books, a horror-light, kid-centric series that has now sold, in total, upwards of 400 million copies. The movie, like the books, boasts a few tingles. But this film is more a frenetic action comedy than anything too terribly scary. You can rent the movie via a variety of streaming services for $2.99. Or, of course, you could go down to your local theater and check out Goosebumps 2: Haunted Halloween, which follows in much the same vein.
