"I could've gotten away with it, too, if it wasn't for those meddling kids!" That's what many of us heard every Saturday morning when we tuned into watch Hanna-Barbera's classic Scooby-Doo cartoons in the 1970s and '80s, when the show's spooky villain was literally unmasked to reveal, most often, a common crook. That's not so much the case with this updated look at Scooby, Shaggy and the rest, dealing as they do with ghosts and aliens (and ghostly aliens), not to mention a dollop of voodoo. This PG romp offers some predictable morals in the midst of its occult hijinks and gives off a surprisingly creepy vibe at times. Still, it rests at semi-peace within its PG confines, and it's available for free on Netflix, too.
