Support (and get to know) your local retailers
Being in a city doesn't mean you can't build your very own community. Start by frequenting your local businesses and getting to know the staff. There's nothing like a friendly wave as you rush to work to put a smile on your face. And even better, the more you know and support your local retailers, the more they'll keep an eye out for your kids, too.
