Slightly more unusual (and the writer's own name!), this ancient site is a spiritual brook, or
wadi, where in 1 Kings, Elijah was fed by ravens. Believed to be modern-day Wadi-Qelt, tradition has it Mary's parents went there to pray to be blessed with a child. The area is home to the ancient
St. George's Monastery, which is built into a cliff and is a popular destination for pilgrims from all over the world. Pronounced Ke'rith, it's a name steeped in history.
