We have to take responsibility for our actions.
Throughout the book, Wahlberg shares in brutal truth the many offenses he committed, and the many he got away with. He never tries to blame others, even though he was a youngster in need of help. By owning his actions he could confess, learn from his mistakes, and try to make them right by serving others.
