The Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth is believed to have been built over the place where Mary’s childhood home once stood, the spot where the angel appeared to Mary and “the Word became flesh.” Not far from there is the lesser-known Church of St. Joseph. Pilgrims traveled there because they believed it was the location of the house of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus. Could it be true? Archaeologist Ken Dark believes so.
