A harder name to bear perhaps, but nonetheless a name of a delicious variety of pear you can enjoy this fall. It can be shortened to Perry, and also means "one from abroad" or "pilgrim," so it is a lovely choice for a child born into the Catholic faith. It also happens to be the name of a 14th-century Italian saint who's the patron of those suffering from cancer or other illnesses.
