From 1945: a particular taste for the piano and classical music
Upon his escape, Joseph continued his studies. He studied philosophy and theology at the seminary. He also cultivated a real passion for music and the fine arts in general. According to the Research Center for Catholic Education, his favorite instrument was an old, unmarked piano that he acquired shortly after his ordination, while still a professor at the College of Philosophy and Theology in Freising in the 1950s.
