Marcel Callo

Recognizable here especially thanks to his trademark glasses, Marcel Callo joined the Christian Youth Workers movement (Jeunesse Ouvrière Chrétienne) when he was 14 years old. During World War II, he was arrested for being “decidedly too Catholic”; he died in the concentration camp of Mauthausen, in Austria.
