Jena, Germany
For those wishing to fulfill childhood fairytale fantasies, the German town of Jena should not be missed. Locals celebrate the start of the annual Christmas market by cutting a giant 13-feet long stollen loaf baked by local pastry makers. For the remaining days, a lively Christmas atmosphere is kept alive by a trumpet fanfare played by the top of the tower of the ancient town hall, further adding to the fairy tale atmosphere.
