Bell tower of the church of Saint Nicholas, Kaliazine (Russia)
This bell tower that seems to float on the Volga is a remnant of the Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas. It’s located on an island at the edge of the Uglitch reservoir near the town of Kaliazine. Although the construction of this reservoir swallowed up monasteries and churches, the faithful installed new bells in 2016: a sign of enduring vitality.
