Church of Curon (Italy)
This is probably the most famous submerged church in Europe. In 1950, despite the protests of the inhabitants, the village of Curon was partially destroyed before being submerged. The church was dynamited but the bell tower was left as it was. In the middle of the artificial lake of Resia, it is today an attraction for tourists.
