Visitors to Magdala's archaeological site

In 2009, construction was halted on the guesthouse when inspectors discovered the remains of a 1st-century village underneath the construction site.
Among the finds was this stone carving of what is believed to be the Second Temple of Jerusalem. It includes the first-known stone carving of a menorah.

The new guesthouse will accommodate 160 people in rooms with views of the Sea of Galilee and the archaeological park.
