St. Costanzo, Capri
Built in honor of the island’s patron, St. Costanzo, this is the oldest church of Capri. It was built according to Byzantine style during the 5th century, on the site of a more ancient basilica. According to a local tale, Costanzo, who was the patriarch of Costantinople, was lost at sea and found refuge on this island. Every year, locals celebrate Costanzo with a colorful procession on May 14.
