Buitrago del Loyzola, Spain
The live Nativity scene of Buitrago del Loyzola, a town of 2,000 near Madrid in Spain, is one of the most important Christmas traditions in the whole of Spain. The story of the birth of Jesus is told in 39 acts, featuring more than 200 actors, 15 technical operators and 35 local officers. No wonder it attracts more than 25,000 visitors from out of town, making it worth of the title of “Event of National Tourism Interest” in 2001.
