Blessed Antonio Rosmini
Antonio Rosmini, an Italian priest and philosopher of the 19th century, founded the Institute of Charity, now known as the Rosminians. The heir to his family’s great wealth, he was generous with his fortune, helping people such as St. John Bosco in his ministry to “street children.” Upon being ordained a priest, Antonio wrote in his diary: “From this hour onwards I must be a new man, live in heaven with my heart and mind, converse always with Christ, despise and flee from earthly things. I must return from the altar a saint, an apostle, a man full of God, I must progress in all virtues and be the first in love of hard work, humiliation and suffering.”
