OUR LADY OF ROMAY (SAÔNE-ET-LOIRE)
Close to Paray-le-Monial, a small chapel, located in Romay, is built on a very old miraculous spring already venerated in Gallic times. In the 2nd century, the arrival of Christianity replaced the cult of an ancient goddess with that of the Virgin Mary. The small original oratory was then transformed into a shrine, which very quickly attracted crowds. The chapel was soon given the title of "chapel of respite." Tradition tells us that, thanks to Mary's intercession, stillborn babies would come back to life for a few minutes in this chapel while they were being baptized.
