Anise -- Matthew 23:23
Anise comes from a flowering plant that grows in the eastern Mediterranean as well as Southwest Asia. Commonly used as a flavoring agent in alcohol, it has a similar flavor to fennel and black licorice. It is also used in meat recipes and desserts.
