Vilnius Cathedral

First mentioned in recorded history in 1387, the Vilnius Cathedral Basilica is one of the oldest churches in Lithuania. Its neoclassical style dates back to a 19th century restoration. During the Soviet occupation, the Vilnius cathedral was shut down and converted to an art gallery. In 1988, it reopened and was re-consecrated.
