A young man in Barcelona performs an exercise in trustWould you trust someone you’ve never met before? What makes you trust another person? This is a video taken in Barcelona, Spain, of a social experiment that looks at trust within society. A young man blindfolds himself and places a sign at his feet that says, "I trust you; do you trust me? Give me a hug." Then he waits, arms outstretched, to see if anyone will accept his invitation. Some people pass him by, some stop and stare; eventually a few people begin to come up to him. As people see individuals willing to embrace him, they are more willing to do it themselves. One of the fascinating things is watching the way people approach and hug the man.
