Who we are?
Aleteia (aleteia.org) is an online publication distributed in five languages (English, French, Spanish, Polish and Slovenian).
Since its launch in 2013, it has become one of the world's leading news websites. The Aleteia site offers a Christian vision of the world by providing general and religious content that is free from ideological influences.
With more than 600,000 subscribers to our newsletter and more than 3.3 million fans on Facebook, Aleteia reaches more than 10 million readers per month.
Our story
Aleteia was created in 2013 in Rome, independently from the Catholic Church but with the support of several of its structures, with the aim of promoting the presence of a Christian point of view in the media landscape for the world's one and a half billion Catholics. In July 2015, the Media-Participations group became Aleteia's industrial operator. Media-Participations is an International publisher (over 40 publishing houses), media (10 magazines) and entertainment (audiovisual production, video games, streaming platforms, theme parks...). Since then, Aleteia has been developing an independent editorial strategy focused on information and lifestyle.
Links with the Church
Created through the passion and professional expertise of lay Catholics, Aleteia is totally autonomous from the official structure of the Catholic Church. Its editorial activity develops freely, while remaining attentive to the message of the Church and of the Pope.
