This video is essentially an experiment: If you place two children in a room alone and give them only one of them a sandwich, what happens? The video was made as part of a campaign for the work of Action Against Hunger/ACF International. According to the web site, deadly malnutrition claims the lives of one million children every year. These deaths are predictable, preventable, treatable and affordable—so why are there still so many people going hungry? The root of the answer may lie in the actions of the children in this video—sharing more of what we have. And not just sharing, but acting as though the earth’s resources, including access to food and clean water, are for everyone.
