A glimpse into the documentary “Cloistered: God’s Women of Steel”
What is like to leave everything and everyone you love and enter a Catholic monastery, hidden way from the outside world. Why would a woman choose to leave the world, career, family, and all the possibilities of her life behind, and embrace a quiet life of prayer, community, sacrifice, and adoration of Jesus Christ?

Cloistered: God’s Women of Steel, a documentary made by Kevin Stirling, explores this question, introducing viewers to the nuns at the Our Lady of The Angels Monastery in Hanceville, Alabama — the religious order founded by Mother Angelica, who is also the foundresss of EWTN. This trailer of the film provides a glimpse into the real lives behind the cloister grille, the women who made a choice to become Poor Clare Nuns.
