Is it blasphemy to say that we are meant to be gods? Dr. Gregory Popcak, adjunct professor and Catholic psychologist, says no. In his new book, Broken Gods: Hope, Healing and the Seven Longings of the Human Heart, Popcak points out that our deification can be found in Scripture and was taught by the early Church fathers. Here, he speaks to Zoe Romanowsky about why he wrote the book and how our deepest desires—in fact, even our darkest ones—reveal our ultimate destiny and help us to discover an approach to fulfilling our true purpose in life.
